Like the Feathers of an Arrow (affectionately known as LFA).

3 Can I Have This Dance?: Hang-Ups

Title:  Somebody to Shove
Artist:  Soul Asylum
Album:  Grave Dancers Union
Genre:  Pop

Hang-Ups

The clock t-t-t-ticks
as I sit here all alone
waiting - just waiting - by the phone.

Paralyzed and entranced
time flys by and yet it seems to crawl
as I'm waiting - just waiting - for you to call.

I need you to wake me from this dream,
pull me from this--just give me a shove
'cause I'm waiting - just waiting - for somebody to love

me.

6 TEMPT

TEMPT
seduce
enamor

she savors the words
meant to entice a night
of pure bliss and perchance love

"awaken strong desires within."

The above is what happens here on ...dodta... when Three Word Wednesday [3WW=>(per)chance, entice, savor(s)]meets the clarity pyramid.  Check out how some of the other talented writers employ these three simple words.

9 Last Call: Boiling Point

Boiling Point

The words stew
bubble and boil
like an unwatched
pot of water
froathing and expanding
'til they spill
over the edge
sizzling and sputtering
from lips unfiltered
burning and searing
those on the other end
causing unintentional
pain and scars
marring much more
than the surface

An Aside:  up until I got to the line "from lips..." I had a completely different thought on were this was going.  But the line just crept in throwing me in a new direction...so I went with it.

This is my offerings for this week's dVerse Poets Pub OpenLinkNight. If you get a chance, check out all of the talented poets who have stepped up into the spotlight.

1 Time Capsule: P(ain)'s & Q(uestion)'s and Relaxing Beat

Title(s):  P(ain)'s & Q(uestion)'s and Relaxing Beat
Date:  between 09/25/03 and 06/21/04
Setting:  Life after college--during second post-college job
Form:  Alphabet Poem and Reverse Alphabet Poem
--P(ain)’s & Q(uestion)’s
Alliance Built
causing disarray
Every foe
grudgingly harbors
indiscretions (justifiable killings?)
Love means nothing
only pain
Questions rise
surrounding troubles
Unaware
vanity with xenophobia
yields zilch

Relaxing Beat
Zapping your xylophone
            working vibes
Undertones tremble
            swaying
            relaxing quiet people
Overpowering noise
            moves listeners
Kaleidoscopic jangles
            intensify harmonies
            granting freedom
Escaping disturbing cares…

beat away!

Notes:
These two Alphabet Poems are created by each word using the next letter of the alphabet verse every line.  After creating one with ABC order, I thought it might be fun to go for a backwards version with ZXY.

Artifact I:  My first ABC poem--later named.

Artifact II:  My first ZXY poem.
